Precision minimalism, large formats, wellness bathroom and hidden technologies — these are the trends defining premium bathrooms in 2026. Real commentary from the building site.
Architectural minimalism — less form, more precision
2026 is the year minimalism in bathrooms reached a new dimension. It is no longer about simple geometry — it is about precision minimalism: every element in its place, every cut must be perfect, and the absence of decoration is compensated by the perfection of execution. A visible workmanship error in a minimalist bathroom is more glaring than ever before.
This translates directly into expectations of the contractor. Composite-to-composite corners without a visible joint, 45° mitre cuts without a step, fixture cut-outs precisely fitted — this is the standard expected by premium-execution investors in Kraków.
Large formats and quartz composites — dominating 2026
Formats of 120×280, 160×320 and 160×360 cm are displacing traditional 60×60 even in higher-end developer apartments. The result: fewer grout joints, more visual space, the optical enlargement of rooms. Neolith and Laminam composites are increasingly finding their way into projects for individual investors — not just hotels and spas.
At LOFTBAU, over 60% of executions in 2026 include large-format elements. Book-match (mirror pattern matching of adjacent stone slabs) is a premium effect that is becoming a standard expectation in architectural projects.
Colours 2026 — moving away from white
The white bathroom has ceased to be synonymous with luxury. The trend for 2026: terracotta and raw earth tones (warm sand, deep clay), dark marble and black ceramics (wet stone, black slate), as well as combinations of light composite with matt metal — brushed brass, corten, graphite.
In Kraków we are seeing interest in bathrooms in the palette of grey concrete + off-white + black fixtures. This combination is aesthetically proven, resistant to becoming dated and always looks precise — provided execution is perfect.

Hidden technologies — drains, built-ins, frames
Premium investors want bathrooms where technology is invisible. A linear drain recessed in a niche at the wall (wet room concept), a Geberit concealed frame with a flush plate matching fixture colour, GK built-ins without visible corners, LED lighting in niches without visible fittings.
This requires perfect coordination at design and execution stage. At LOFTBAU we carry out technical consultations with the architect before execution, so that every element of hidden technology is planned before the first strike of the chisel.
Architectural LED lighting — function and aesthetics
Lighting in a premium bathroom has stopped being purely functional — it has become a design element. Backlit niches, LED strips along the base of built-ins, LED tape behind the mirror, IP65 spots in the shower zone — every one of these elements must be planned at the electrical stage, before the screed is poured.
DALI control systems or simple dimming are an investment that allows bathroom ambience to be changed. In premium projects we increasingly install systems integrating lighting with underfloor heating on a single controller (Danfoss or Warmup).
Wellness bathroom — the bathroom as a relaxation zone
Wellness bathroom is not just a freestanding bathtub and a walk-in drain. It is the concept of the bathroom as a regeneration zone: thermostat-controlled heated floors, Grohe SmartControl hydrojet systems, heated towel rails with automatic shutoff. This tendency is a lasting post-pandemic effect — the home as a sanctuary.
In Kraków we are executing an increasing number of bathrooms in premium apartments where investors spend PLN 40,000–60,000 on the wellness zone alone. This is the fastest-growing segment in our execution portfolio.
